ABOUT

The story so far...

My initial introduction to yoga was in 1999, at the time connecting to yoga on a purely physical level not appreciating the value or understanding the true purpose of yoga ( simply defined- Yoga: 'union' or 'yoke' a practise uniting body, mind and spirit.)  Then, after a serious illness in 2014, a gut feeling and need for a 'body, mind and soul' reboot led me to chose yoga as my healing path.

Enrolling on a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course with Yoga Veda Institute (Yoga Alliance RYS) to extend my knowledge and understanding, never intending to teach just wanting to learn, absorb and experience yoga.  Based on the Sivananda tradition of yoga, and intertwined with Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy, it gave me a new perspective, nurtured and improved my health and was truly one of the best experiences of my life.

Ayurveda ['ayur'-life, 'veda'- science] is the 'sister science' to yoga; it is the science of self-healing, bringing the physical and emotional body into balance. Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy uses daily routines, diet and yoga practices tailored to your unique dosha (personal constitution) to reduce the symptoms of dis-ease promoting harmony, healing and nurturing your entire being.

At a retreat in Cambodia I was introduced to TRE (Trauma Release Exercises), a practice that naturally releases tension and trauma held deep in the body using therapeutic tremors or shaking. It had a profound effect on my health and led to my becoming a qualified TRE provider.

The last few years have been transformational in my life, I have travelled, attended courses deepening my knowledge and practise to include Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Trauma Informed yoga, visited retreats and spent time exploring or just taking time to relax in beautiful places. Constantly inspired by people and places. Learning to listen to my gut instinct and act on it, accept who I am for all my quirks and to make changes in life to promote better health and happiness.

2020 presented us all with  unusual, challenging and unexpected changes, adapting our lives to our new continually changing realities, for me it meant embracing technology for zoom classes and for a while stepping back from social media and other distractions to reflect. Meditation has been at the forefront of my personal practise deepened by an online course with Eckhart Tolle and regular communication with my peers and teachers.  This lead to an exploration into Traditional Tantric Hatha Yoga, an ancient lineage of beautiful practices led by my teacher Octavio Salvado at The Practice, Bali and in 2021 I undertook an immersive, deeply challenging yet wonderful six month 300 hours Teacher Training. This training transformed my personal practice and how I teach. Then in 2023 on retreat in Thailand I unexpectedly and rather spontaneously enrolled in an Aerial Yoga training -  this challenged me in many ways and was transformational in helping me address some fears whilst being fun and joyful - we are inherently light and joy accessing this joy is what YOGA is about.

New insights and revelations began when in August 2023 I had an attunement to Seichim - Divine Feminine Energy Healing ( similar to Reiki however more intuitive), this opened a gateway to intuitive, guided energy work with new personal insights and understanding that often informs my work with clients.

2024 a year of change: having experienced significant breakthroughs in my healing with Conscious Connected Breath work / Re-birthing whilst on retreat, this year I delved deeper studying Breathwork with world renowned breath master Dan Brule applying techniques rooted in yogic practices and evolving my practice, health and skill set. Holding space for breath therapy and guiding people through this process of energetic change is truly a gift.

Big changes! After living in North Devon, England for the last 24 years I am currently downsizing my personal possessions and putting things into storage, letting go of my rented house and exploring the world - in search of my next home. Trusting opportunities will come my way and leaning on my collection of skills to find work and new connections. On- line work will continue wherever there is internet connection!

My yoga and meditation practice has carried me through strange times, supported me in times of personal trauma and allowed me to make new and bold changes honouring my soul desires becoming the most authentic version of myself I ever ever been.

I love sharing these practises in my work.
